Psychological and pedagogical support for the value and motivational
sphere development of students of psychological specialties

Abstract: Analysis of the value-motivational sphere is often carried out about specific educational and professional
areas, which makes it possible to identify certain characteristics of representatives of a particular group. The presented
article actualizes the problems of semantic orientations and motivation at student age, accumulating them into identifying
noticeable features of the general value-motivational sphere. At the same time, students of psychological specialties are
moving to the forefront of research, those cannot but have special motives for activity and their value hierarchy, which
initially determines the importance of addressing this topic. In this regard, it is very important to take into account the
influence of the educational environment of the university, i.e. the specifics of training at a particular faculty – here the
identification of specific aspects of motivation, value hierarchy, and needs becomes the task of both educational psychology
and developmental psychology. During the psychological and pedagogical support, specific features of the value-motivational
sphere of students were identified: the need to obtain a certain freedom in their activities; desire to self-develop in the
chosen professional field; commitment to creative initiative during work; the need to control one’s own decisions and
attitudes; desire for conflict-free communication.

Keywords: value-motivational sphere, needs, students, psychological specialties, educational process.
