Linguodidactic potential of museum reviews in the practice of teaching
Russian as a Foreign Language

Abstract: The article deals with the problem of teaching RFL to foreigners by introducing students to the study of
culture, in particular to fine artworks, when visiting museums in Russia. The involvement of the genre of a review to
a cultural event visit as a linguodidactic material is relevant for the formation of foreign trainees’ communicative skills
making it possible to express appreciation and evaluation. Real examples from the guestbook of the M.A. Vrubel Omsk
Regional Museum of Fine Artsare given; their linguodidactic potential from the viewpoint of teaching RFLis evaluated.
Special attention is paid to the specifics of the review-comment on the Internet, where virtual tours of exhibitions are
becoming popular. The article analyzes their features and differences from the texts in traditional paper guestbooks. The
authors propose expanding the sources of linguodidactic materials for the development of discursive practices of the
Russian language in the field of culture, as well as methodological solutions aimed at mastering the topic of art criticism
and the formation of linguistic and cultural competencies among foreign students in the field of culture and art of Russia.
The research uses methods of discourse analysis of museum visitors’ reviews and methodological techniques for modeling
similar communicative situations based on the studied material.
