Abstract:

Introduction. The article deals with the problem of a logistics provider choice based on the ex-pert evaluation method . The purpose of the article is to develop a procedure for a logistics provider choice having the properties of complexity, universality and flexibility.

Materials and methods. The procedure of choosing a logistics provider includes a set of marketing and computational methods: experts identification and questionnaires development, the Delphi method modified by J. Fowles, the analytic hierarchy process by T. Saati, methods for calculating the eigenvectors of the pairwise comparison matrix, data normalization methods, etc.

The results lie in the development of a methodology for a logistics provider selection, and use of this methodology will enable the researcher to get the correct and relevant results for the problem under study.

Conclusions. The authors deem that the proposed methodology could be used in the activities of companies participating in the logistics channel to select the best providers. When taking into account the universality of the developed methodology, one could get the possibility to expand it to a wider class of logistics problems.
