Mathematical skills of humanities professionals in the digital age

Abstract: Mathematical science is the foundation for the development of scientific knowledge. The need for its
understanding and application has become even more acute with the spread of the Internet and the improvement in the
capabilities of computing devices. This event was reflected in the appearance of the so-called computational methods, whose
work requires serious mathematical training. With all the complexity and immensity of the currently existing mathematical
disciplines, we set out to show in what direction mathematical knowledge will develop in the realities of an emerging digital
society. The research base was the scientific works of contemporaries and predecessors of domestic and foreign science,
who clearly outlined their position about mathematics and the management of socio-economic processes through them.
As part of the study, it was possible to identify potential ways for the further development of computer technology; note the philosophical aspects faced by specialists involved in the modeling of complex systems; and highlight the problems of
understanding the existing mathematical ideas, especially about representatives of the humanities. The work done can be
useful for the development of modern and relevant curricula for the preparation of professions related to the management
of social facilities and the economy.

Keywords: mathematics, computational methods, truth, visibility, socio-economic modeling.
