The specifics of modern criminal journalism
(on the example of the internet-project “Criminal Russia”)

Abstract: In modern journalism, the analysis of new media that exist exclusively on the Web, as well as their
interaction with traditional media, is considered one of the most promising areas. The network publications that have
appeared, including legal topics, specialized Internet portals of legal information indicate that under the influence of various
factors, genre and communication transformations of media texts are taking place, which actualizes the need to study
network projects of a criminal nature in the digital environment. The article deals with the content of the site “Criminal
Russia”, its themes and problems, genre and stylistic features. As a result of the study, conclusions were drawn about the
originality of the analyzed site, the most significant characteristics of modern criminal journalism were indicated. Analysis
of the problems and genre specifics of the website “Criminal Russia” made it possible ultimately not only to identify the
features of Internet journalism, but also to understand.
