Pragmastilistic specifics of the state political propaganda media discourse
(based on the material of the radio program “Full Contact”
by Vladimir Solovyov)

Abstract: The international political situation developed in 2022 has radically changed the Russian media field: state
control over the media has tightened, the number of information resources broadcasting views opposed to the government
has significantly decreased, and the audience’s interest in both traditional and new media explicating the pro-government point of view has significantly increased. In this regard, such a discursive kind of political propaganda media discourse
as the state political propaganda discourse of the mass media, which has specific features and attributes that are still the
subject to scientific reflection and discussion, has been actualized in the Russian mass media. The article has formulated
the author’s definition of this discursive variety, and identified and analyzed the dominant speech strategies and tactics
represented in it. The empirical base of the study included the releases of the radio program “Full Contact” (“Vesti FM”),
broadcasted from February to December 2022. The host of the program is Vladimir Solovyov, a journalist and political
commentator known for his pro-government position. The choice of this program is due to the breadth of coverage of
the target audience (the program is released both on FM waves and in podcast format on the platform Smotrim.ru and
Rutube video hosting), as well as high ratings of the program, which indicates its relevance to the addressee, the established
concept, the developedjournalistworkstyle. General scientific methods, as well as methods of discourse analysis and
pragmastilisticshave been used in the research.

Keywords: media discourse, media text, pragmastilistics, state political propaganda media discourse, speech strategy,
