Selected issues of interregional migration in Siberian regions: on the example of the Omsk region

Abstract: The article is devoted to the study of migration processes in the Siberian region. As a key element of the analysis, the article considers the migration relations in the Omsk region and their key characteristics. The task to be solved in the course of the current study is to identify the prospects of migration processes in the Omsk region, taking into account the current trends and socio-economic nature, as well as to develop possible solutions to the problems of migration in the Siberian region based on the dynamics and volume of migration flows between the Omsk region and other regions of Russia. The methodological basis of the study is empirical methods of statistical information analysis; they reveal the existing migration processes using illustrative graphs and descriptive elements of demographic trends in the Siberian region. The work uses the materials of state statistics bodies, the results of sociological surveys, official data on the dynamics and number of the population both in the Omsk region and in the Siberian region as a whole. In part of the main results, the existing problems of the region regarding migration processes are outlined. The assessment of the impact of the main factors of migration on the Siberian region is given, and the main measures of state regulation in terms of the formation of regional development policy in the context of migration policy of the Siberian region are considered.
