Physical activity regulation in children’s and youth sport as a tool tomaintain children’s health: systematic review of the works of Russian and foreign scientists

Abstract: Based on a systematic review of the works of national and foreign scientists to determine the degree      of elaboration of the issue of rationing the workload in children’s and youth sport, the development of criteria for its optimal volumes and intensity for different age groups of children. The systematic review includes analysis of the works of nationaland foreign scientists available in the reference databases PubMed, Scopus, Google Scholar, eLibrary.ru for   the period 2018-2022. We have analyzed 40 publications of nationaland foreign scientists, 67 legal documents on the investigated problem. On the basis of the study we have revealed that modern research on the investigated problems are fragmentary, the articles analyze individual aspects of the impact of physical activity on children’s health, the criteria for their optimization and rationing in children’s and youth sport are not clearly defined. Literature sources indicate different age periods of start times for sports. To solve the problems of optimization of physical activity, the heart rate indicator or the expert knowledge of coaches is used, taking into account the values specified in the standards. However, there is no unified structure of the periods of motor function formation in children required for practicing a particular sport. Based on the above, it can be concluded that it is necessary to create a unified system of criteria for rationing physical loads in children’s and youth sports, to identify the sensitive phases of motor function development in children of different ages, to solve the problem of determining the optimal periods of the beginning of children’s activities in a particular sport.

Keywords: sstandardization in children’s and youth sport, training process, children’s health, physical loads, motor functions.
