Developing young men’s driving skillsusing a modular approach in the paradigm of personal-activity methodology

Abstract: The results of a study of the effectiveness of a modular approach used to form driving skills are presented. The necessity of close interaction between a cadet and adriver education teacher is noted. The purpose of the study is to investigate the effectiveness of a modular approach to professional driver training along flexible individual educational trajectories. The methodological basis is the personal-activity approach to professional training. A modular approach is used as a methodology for teaching to drive a car. A theoretical analysis of the existing requirements for the  development of driving skills is carried out and their new classification and evaluation criteria are presented in accordance with the  modular organization of training. The formation of skills is studied by the method of expert assessments. The results of the study are to substantiate the effectiveness of modular training for a driving school cadet. An experimental conceptual model for the formation of driving skills along flexible individual educational trajectories is presented. The advantage in the study of the informative-communicative module and the location module on the roadway by the students of the experimental group was confirmed. At the end, the conclusions are formulated that the essence of the personal-activity methodology in the formation of driving skills lies in the redistribution of educational resources. The infrastructure for this is the modular training of the cadet, within which the design of flexible individual educational trajectories is carried out, which allows the pedagogical system to reach a new, higher structural level of functioning. As a result, the effectiveness of the formation of awareness-communicative skills and driving actions to determine the safety of changes on the roadway is increased.
