“Nature and Hunting” journal as a new type of specialized publication
Abstract: The article examines the history of the most authoritative specialized magazine “Nature and Hunting” (1878-1912) under the direction of L. P. Sabaneev. The economic, historical and political situation in Russia was taken into account. The aim of the work is to determine the place of the magazine in hunting journalism in the second half of the XIXth century, to identify its typological dominants. The archival materials from the funds of the Russian State Historical Archive on the history of the journal have been studied. The publication program and the content of articles have been studied. The leading method of analysis is historical and typological. A distinctive feature of the journal is its scientific basis.
