Abstract:

Introduction. The problem of religious education of future officers in the modern context of the re-vival of the religious nature in the population is considered. The purpose of the article is to analyze and summarize the pedagogical experience of one of the oldest educational institutions in Siberia, to assess the prospects for its application in the modern context.
Methodology. Key methods of the research are the analysis of historical (documentary and memoir) literature, archival documents, chronology and periodization.
Results. The article presents general pedagogical characteristics of the system of multi-religious edu-cation, formed in the 19th – early 20th centuries in the Siberian (Omsk) Cadet Corps.
Conclusions. Religious education can solve complex educational problems, but its return to the edu-cational system on the condition of its free choice is hampered by misconceptions about the possible con-flict of religions in educational organizations.
