Abstract:

Introduction. In the context of Russia’s accession to the World Trade Organization, issues of socio-economic evaluation of the effectiveness of organic agriculture and the development of organic production are becoming topical. In the process of research, the need to develop an algorithm for state support of domestic agricultural producers of organic products within the framework of the green basket of WTO is indicated.

Materials and Methods. In the process of research, general scientific methods of cognition of socio-economic phenomena and processes were used: logical, analytical methods, classification, systematic and integrated approaches, methods of synthesis and comparative analysis.

The results of the study consist in the fact that Russia uses only partially its capabilities in the field of agricultural development, including the production of organic food products, in the conditions of the country’s accession to the WTO, the state has enormous export potential in the form of unused fallow fertile land.

Сonclusion. The authors came to the conclusion that the indirect support of the state in the frame-work of the green basket can be represented in the form of organizing certification of organic products, car-rying out laboratory research, financing scientific research, carrying out measures to restore and improve soil fertility, and environmental protection.
