Abstract:

Introduction. Social projects forming the residents’ comfort are tried to fit into the modern urban en-vironment. Lucky Bike is a system of public rental where you can borrow a bike from one “dock” and re-turn it at another dock belonging to the same system. This is a completely private project: investors specifi-cally have chosen Krasnodar for start-up because of the climate and bad road conditions. It will be possible to find a free bike and manage the rental through the LuckyBike mobile application. Dense building and narrow roads will hamper the implementation of the project as it will not be possible to provide a security system between cyclists, pedestrians and motorists.
The purpose of the study is to analyze the possibility of the bike-share project development in an ur-ban environment.

Methodology. In the scientific literature, this public bike-share project having social development factors is not sufficiently presented as practice-oriented in the security system and ergonomic urban infra-structure. Information, comparative, situational analysis conducted by the process of scientific research have showen the unreadiness of the city of Krasnodar to implement the project according to the scheme worked out by the organizers.

Results. The article presents an analysis of the project development possibility in an urban environ-ment, taking into account the regional component and the experience of Russian cities and world bike-share leaders. Bike-share as a transport service for a certain part of the population has its disadvantages for the life of a small densely populated and buit-up city. In the city of Krasnodar there can be a guest route from one district to another (there are four in total) to visit relatives or friends providing safety for transport and pedestrians. The cyclist must have a helmet and be sober. There are cases with lethal outcome in the prov-ince confirm these negative factors.
In the Krasnodar region, due to the prevailing climatic conditions and the development of the terrain, it would be possible to travel by bicycle with a group of friends or family. Thus, bike-share could be one of the areas for sports tourism. The issue of security not only on the road, but also the whole route becomes a priority. Cycling routes must be officially registered and certified. The legal aspect is important: who pro-vides the route security system, namely the police, the Ministry of emergency situations, Cycling compa-nies. Moreover, there will be another problem i.e. technical service on the route for the consumers. So if there is a cycling race, the route is prepared and on the road special services are on duty, ready to provide technical assistance in case of a problem.

Conclusions. Whether the project is appropriate at all? It is necessary to calculate everything: direct and indirect costs, possible risks for all groups of the population.
