The conceptual dominants in “All alone” and “The villagers” stories by V. M. Shukshin

Abstract:

The goal of the article is to look into the conceptual dominants of “All alone” and “The Villagers” stories by V. M. Shukshin. The article distinguishes the problem of literary texts “conceptual skeleton” analyses. According to the logic of scientific research, the authors have to define the word “dominant”. There are such conceptual dominants in the story “All alone” as “balalaika», “home”, “song”; in the “The Villagers” story one can find the following dominants: “telegram”, “plane”, “fear”. The texts analysis showed that in the center of the stories there are dominants connected to the portrayals of the main characters. It highlights their conceptual importance. The lexical meanings play a great role in their representation. The authors came to the conclusion that the identified conceptual dominants help to determine the problems presented in the work of literature, to realize the author’s alternative ways to solve these problems, and influence the development of the plot.
