Abstract:

The implementation of the project-based learning in higher education institutions is necessary, since it allows students to master such skills as analyzing, working in a team and function in conditions of uncertainty. Unfortunately, due to the lack of conditions for the projects implementation, the approach is rather formal in practice. Having studied the theory well, students do not have an opportunity to go through all the stages of the project’s life cycle, including implementation and completion. The purpose of this case study is the practical application of the proposed method for this problem solution. Two methods of the project-based learning implementation in the educational process are proposed: an external customer involvement and external funding use. The second option is considered on a specific example. As part of their training in Management and Logistics, students were able to implement their project by a grant of the Ministry of internal policy and mass communications of the Murmansk region. Thanks to external funding, students did not only master the skills of project implementation and completion, but also got satisfaction from the achieved result, as well as motivation for subsequent project work.
