Abstract:
The article raises the problem of discrepancy between socio-economic reality and the foundations of economic science development. The purpose of the article is to draw the scientific community’s attention to the failure of the economic science mainstream and reflect its dysfunctions. The research is based on the analysis, comparison and comparison of socio-economic reality and the mainstream of economic science. The article analyzes the origins of the economic science foundations in the aspect of scientific schools, General scientific paradigms and methodological approaches to the interpretation of the mainstream category. It is concluded that the crisis of the mainstream forces a detailed analysis of the fundamental ideas of the economy and the methodology of their interpretation. An obstacle to the further development of economic science and its integration into reality is the research methods themselves, which are a compilation of various theories.
