Factors of the behavioral environment formation in military educational institutions in Russia: historical background

Abstract:

The article discusses changes of the educational environment organization in military educational institutions in Russia during the military reform of the mid XIX – early XX centuries. The purpose of the study is to clarify the factors of the behavioral environment formation as a structural element of the educational environment of a military educational institution. The author reveals the key ideas of professional military education reformation determining the features and dynamics of changes in the behavioral environment in the military institutions, as well as the impact that this environment had on the personal and professional development of the future officers. The study was conducted basing on the environmental approach; the historical-genetic method was used to study the process of the behavioral environment formation in military schools at certain stages of the professional military education development; we also analyzed the influence of factors determining the specific features of the behavioral environment formation. The results of the study are to determine the dynamics of changes in the behavioral environment in the educational environment of military schools during the implementation of military reforms in the mid XIX – early XX centuries. The factors of the of the behavioral environment formation in a military educational institution are as following : the goal of professional education of the future officers; quality of teachers; the establishment of traditions of military educational institutions, reflecting the military traditions; awareness of team-teaching staff of military educational institutions of their role in the education of future officers. It is concluded that during the military reform of the mid XIX-early XX centuries in Russia, the changes in the organization of future officers professional training were reflected in the formation of the behavioral environment in military educational institutions. Acting as a necessary condition for the formation of an educational environment, pedagogically appropriate behavioral environment was set by the command and teaching staff of military educational institutions and was perceived by students as a single pattern of behavior.
