Abstract:
Introduction. The construction of integral indices of economic dynamics is an essential element of the monitoring system of regional economic safety. Analysis of individual indicators concerns particular aspects in various areas of the regional economic security system. The integral index representing weighted sum of indicators can provide a comprehensive picture of the general economic situation in the region as well as compare different regions with each other. The purpose of the article is a comparative analysis of various methods for calculating weight coefficients in the integral index of economic security using the example of Omsk region.
Materials and Methods. Methods for calculating weighting coefficients in a weighted sum of indicators based on expert estimates and official statistics are considered. Algorithms for ranking methods, pairwise matching and scoring are given in detail.
Results. Weights of indicators were calculated using the methods of expert assessment and the method of principal components. The integral indices of economic security of Omsk region in the real economy and in the social sphere were constructed.
Conclusions. The research showed the approximate equivalence of the choice of the method for calculating weight coefficients in the integral index of economic security of Omsk region. The tools proposed in the article can be used by the regional authorities in a comprehensive assessment of economic security and in making forecasts of the socio-economic development of the region.
