Abstract:

The paper analyzes the practical aspects of school mathematics. It describes peculiarities of theoreti-cal and applied mathematics. The author defines the concept of “application problem” and identifies the steps to solve it by means of mathematical modeling. It points out the analysis of applied orientation of spe-cific textbooks on algebra.
