of the profile of education “Theory and methodology of teaching foreign languages and cultures” at the university

Abstract: This theoretical article is devoted to the problem of the formation of methodological competence of university students studying in the profile “Theory and methodology of teaching foreign languages and cultures” in the light of the new requirements of the Federal State Educational Standard 3++. The purpose of writing the article was to systematize and consider the features of preparing future foreign language teachers for professional activity and to propose some measures to optimize the process of forming methodological competence at the university. Research methods: analysis of literature on linguistics, methods of teaching foreign languages. The conceptual and theoretical basis of the work described in the article is competence-based and activity-based approaches. The article presents the system of training bachelor students studying in the profile “Theory and methodology of teaching foreign languages and cultures” in terms of the formation of their methodological competence, highlights such components of the training system as “target”, “educational”, “educational, industrial practice”, “research work, pre-graduate practice” and “extracurricular activities”, gives a brief description of the above-listed blocks. The use of the presented system of training for future foreign language teachers seems promising and meets the modern requirements of the state and society, since it implies a systematic and comprehensive formation of methodological competence using innovative methods and techniques throughout the entire course of study at the university.
