Aestheticization of nonexistence in modern Russian rock-poetry

Abstract: The subject-figurative structure of modern Russian rock-poetry is investigated in the focus of an existential-phenomenological approach. Aestheticization of nonexistence is comprehended on the material of the lyrics of nine Russian rock-bands (“Mill”, “Refining”, “Yorsh”, “Crow”, “Give Two”, “The Seventh Race”, “Brain Abortion”, “Angel of Heaven”, “Lumen”) in connection with the paradigm shift of artistry. In the light of the reverse hierarchy of the figurative sphere of rock-texts, the ways of forming existential-virtual artistry are determined. A conceptual four-element model of non-existence is substantiated, which can be expanded due to the specifics of the communicative structure of modern rock-poetry and the actualization of artistic non-subjectivity. The existential flirt of the lyrical hero with death is studied within the framework of the laws of the virtual world. The influence of the connection between the aestheticization of non-existence and demonic aesthetics on the content-formal construction of rock-poetry is characterized. Starting from the system-subjective method, the author of the article demonstrates the variability of the subjective organization of the modern rock-text. Nonexistence is considered in connection with the categories of philosophical and aesthetic order (life, fate, happiness, freedom, peace, sleep, etc.), which allows us to identify the nature and dynamics of the value orientations of rock-poetry. It is noted that death can acquire a subjective status,it is endowed with a special type of charisma and is often perceived by the lyrical hero as a life conceived according to the laws of real existence. The boundary between the subject of being and the subject of nonbeing is analyzed in the context of the images-symbols “door”, “window” and “road” in the article. It is revealed that the interaction of the lyrical hero and the recipient is carried out through artistically played ethical and aesthetic masochism; it becomes a substitute for Christian repentance and self-punishment. The followingpointissugg estedforconsideration i.e. the uniqueness of the emotional tone of modern Russian rock-poetry, since the very essence of lyrical experience acquires new forms of subject-figurative embodiments.
