Development of Russian educational programs in the design industry

Abstract: The article is devoted to a critical analysis of the problems of education in the field of design and the prospects for the development of design education in the context of modern trends in the design industry. The work is focused on the study and comparison of academic and analytical texts of Russian and foreign authors on the subject of design and education. A historical analysis of the content of education in domestic pedagogy in the context of training designers has been carried out. The author traced historicism in the formation of design as a professional activity from the twenties of the last century to the present. In the article, special attention was paid to the evolution of approaches to the development of design education in terms of the need for industrial production, social orders, the emergence of marketing in modern Russia and the change in the requirements for the profession of designer, taking into account the rapidly changing modern Russian society in the context of economic development. In addition, the study considers the evolution of curricula and course programs in terms of their structure and content, as well as analyzes their solvency in the modern realities of education. The article is part of a scientific study on the genesis and formation of design education in Russian higher education.
