Abstract:

Introduction. The article deals with the issues of improving the mechanism of management of rural development and methodological aspects of assessing its effectiveness. The goal is to develop recommen-dations for improvement of management mechanism of agraian territories based on the multifunctionalilty of agriculture.

Materials and Methods. The study was conducted using the methods of abstract-logical and pro-gram-target approaches, grouping based on a cost-effective approach, and content analysis.

Results. A mechanism has been proposed for managing the development of agrarian territories based on the multifunctionality of agriculture. It also includes a new interdepartmental commission on the development of agriculture and agrarian territories; economic, legal and organizational tools and means of mana-gerial influence.

Conclusions. The recommended mechanism for managing the development of agrarian territories takes into account the features of the multifunctional nature of agriculture. It also develops differentiated measures and management decisions made with regard to individual municipalities in order to form a high socio-economic potential of the territories and ensure a decent standard of living for the rural population.
