Abstract:
Introduction. Migration in general and incoming migration flows in particular have a significant im-pact on the socio-economic situation in Omsk region. The problem of the study is to identify a set of factors and relationships between them determining the tension level in the socio-economic situation of Omsk re-gion depending on the incoming migration flows.
Methodology. The purpose of the study is to work out some forecasts of the socio-economic situa-tion development in the region based on the use of cognitive modeling methodology. The following re-search methods have been used: questioning, expert assessment and cognitive modeling.
Results. During the study a cognitive model of tension level in the socio-economic situation in Omsk region as incoming migration flows function based on the survey and expert assessments results has been developed. Some simulation experiments have been carried out using the developed model, and it made possible to predict changes in the tension level in the socio-economic situation depending on the degree of various control factors impact.
Conclusions. Some proposals to manage the socio-economic situation taking into account the incom-ing migration flows influence have been formulated.
