Theory and practice of teaching a foreign language by means of multimedia resources

Abstract:

The purpose of the article is to present ways to optimize the educational process of teaching foreign languages through the use of multimedia resources. The problems of the article: in connection with the modern requirements of the state and society to the level of students’ basic skills in foreign languages, in connection with the need to increase students’ motivation and their involvement in the educational process, it is essential to introduce modern multimedia resources in the process of teaching a foreign language. The article provides examples of multimedia resources, describes the capabilities of interactive simulators, mobile applications in the process of forming various language and speech skills in a foreign language.
Research methods: analysis of literature on linguistics, methods of teaching foreign languages, the method of trial teacher training.
The result of the study is the conclusion that the considered multimedia resources, namely, interactive simulators and mobile applications, have many advantages in teaching a foreign language, are a relevant means of optimizing the process of learning a foreign language. Interactive simulators, mobile applications «fit» into the structure of the educational process, most fully satisfy the didactic requirements and maximize the process of learning English to real conditions.
