Abstract:

Introduction. The problem of self-determination as a factor in the formation of the student’s needs in alternative choice position, actualized by society demands is discussed in the article. The purpose of the article is to identify and substantiate the essential characteristics of self-determination in the position of problem situations, when the student is faced with the need for an alternative.
Materials and Methods. Integrative-developmental approach serves as a fundamental one in solving the design problems of the student’s self-determining activities. This approach determines the professional education influence on the formation of the future physical training specialist’s consciousness, when his\her profession is reflected as a historically and psychologically fixed reality, modified according to the change of socio-economic, pedagogical and other conditions. Special attention is paid to the integration of the students’ external and internal contexts of self-determining activities.
Conclusions. The results of theoretical and practice-oriented research of the problem of selfdetermination as a factor of the student’s formation in the position of problem situations, when a person is faced with the need for an alternative are characterized. The features, the structure and the semantic essence of students’ self-determining activities are schematically presented here.
