Abstract:

The article discusses the existing problems when modern schoolchildren use mobile phones and other devices being at school both in the Russian Federation and abroad. Examples of restrictive measures for the use of mobile phones in educational organizations in different countries are given.
The article provides an overview of scientific research on the possible negative impact of mobile communication devices on child’s health. Adverse reactions of child’s body to the mobile devices effect are caused by electromagnetic radiation, high levels of sensory stimulation of the growing organism, increased load on the organ of vision. Within 2 weeks, with the help of the software displayed on the websites of the Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation, FS Rosobrnadzor and FBUN Novosibirsk Research Institute of Hygiene, the Russian Federation conducted a survey of public opinion among parents, teachers and students of educational organizations concerning awareness of possible health risks in the use of mobile devices, as well as the introduction of restrictive measures in schools of the Russian federation. On average, the proportion of respondents who gave positive answers to the proposed questions ranged from 74.3% to 85.2%. Teachers and parents are the most ready to impose restrictions on the use of personal means of mobile communication by children in school (88.8-90.2% of the number of participants in the survey), this indicator was 61.1% for the students group.
