DEVELOPING CROSS-CULTURAL COMPETENCE FOR UNDERGRADUATE STUDENTS OF A FOREIGN LANGUAGE DEPARTMENT IN A HIGHER EDUCATION INSTITUTION

Introduction. Purpose: to present an analysis of the means of formation of intercultural competence of students of language University.

The problems of the article: as a result of the influence of factors such as globalization and scientific and technological progress, the ability of intercultural communication become relevant, and the question of finding the best means for their formation remains open. The examples of the organization of classes fo- cused on the simulation of communication with representatives of other cultures. Attention is paid to the methodology of working with phraseological units, pragmatic texts. The models of training with the alloca- tion of stages of work are presented. Modern means of communication, such as the Internet, offer opportu- nities to optimize the process of formation of intercultural skills of students.

Research methods: analysis of literature on linguistics, methods of teaching foreign languages, the method of trial training.

The result of the study: the appropriate organization of training increases the motivation of stu- dents, as in phraseological units, texts updated information used in situations of communication.

Conclusion: teachers can adapt the presented technologies of the foreign language teaching process based on their learning conditions.
