Artistic features of Michel Tournier’s philosophical tale “Amandine, or Two gardens”

Abstract. This article examines the features of the genre of M. Tournier’s tale “Amandine, or two gardens” as a tale of initiation, the features of composition; this article examines how the language game reflects the author’s idea. The tale was written for a children’s audience, has a philosophical content. The language game is associated with the cat’s name and based on the secrecy of the truth. The metaphor of entry through the wall, which is real and metaphysical, describes the first steps of a child to know himself and the world. The conclusions of the research may have practical significance in the study of foreign literature of the 20th century.
