Abstract:

Introduction. The article studies the poetry by Henry Bauchau, a French writer of the 20th century. The purpose of the article is to identify the main lyrical motives of his poetical creativity.

Materials and Methods. The study is based on biographical, cultural, genetic and hermeneutic meth-ods. The article explores the system of lyrical images in H. Bauchau’s poetry, the poems “The Second Arch” and the collection “Spiritual Workshop”.

The results are to determine the value of the images of the “arch”, “ark”, “ship”. They combine the writer’s prosaic and lyrical heritage. The creative synthesis of the plastic image and its verbal embodiment is realized in the book “Spiritual Workshop”.

Conclusions. Lyrical concepts in Bauchau’s poems obtain the meaning of latent image, a word-image with coded nature.
