THE CHRONOTOPE OF THE METAPHYSICAL THRESHOLD IN THE POEMS BY RUSSIAN POETS OF 1810–1840

Abstract:

Introduction. The article is devoted to the study of artistic metaphysic of Russian poets. The aim is to determine the structure-forming role of metaphysical threshold in Russian classical poetry.

Materials and Methods. The research is based on the method of the integral analysis of the literary text, on the structural-semantic, cultural-historical, historical-genetic methods.

Results. The study revealed that the threshold situation shaping the lyrical text chronotope implements a romantic model of the ascension from physical to metaphysical, creates the basis for intense philosophical reflection and religious questioning.

Conclusions. The lyrical situation of the metaphysical threshold serves as a valuable basis for assessing the earthly life, for asserting the ideal, for hoping to find freedom and calmness. The poems by Zhukovsky, Pushkin, Delvig reflect the dialogue of ancient and Christian cultural traditions in relation to death.
