Values of kindergarteners who start working in preschool education

Abstract: The article reveals the characteristic features of the values of kindergarteners who start working in preschool educational institutions. The composition of the group of kindergarteners starting to work, their professional difficulties at the stage of adaptation in the profession are determined. The results of an empirical study of the project participants “Kindergartener NEXT” are described. The technique of S. Schwartz “Value Questionnaire” was used. The main goal of the study was to identify the hierarchy of values of kindergarteners starting to work, and to make a forecast about their impact on the process of raising children in a preschool educational institution. The results of the empirical study indicate that the most significant values for the subjects at two levels (normative ideals and individual priorities) are safety, kindness, and independence. Significant priorities for them are: relationships with other people, built on the basis of care, support, equality, fairness, honesty, sincerity, responsibility, reliability, trust, loyalty. We assume that the orientation of kindergarteners to universal moral principles will be a factor in their personal well-being at the stage of adaptation in the profession and the formation of values in children.
