D. Andreev about the visionary essence of F. M. Dostoevsky

Abstract: The article considers the question of understanding the verbal and artistic gift of F. M. Dostoevsky from the position of combining several approaches to the interpretation of the creative path of the writer. The analysis is carried out from the point of view of D. Andreev’s specific terminology; as a result of interpretation and comparison with literary facts, an attempt is made to combine the two systems, and it led to the identification of the central concept characterizing the work of F. M. Dostoevsky. Special attention is paid to the interpretation of the specific Andreev’s terms. Thus, the article provides the necessary distinction between the concepts of “genius”, “talent” and “heraldism”; the latter becomes an interpretation of the essence of the writer’s creativity and a metahistorical prerequisite for the possibility of the appearance of Dostoevsky’s “children”. In the course of the work, the coincidence of the concept of the liberation of the world from evil (“The Rose of the World”) and thorny ways of expanding the boundaries of personality in areas previously inaccessible to verbal representation (Dostoevsky’s “children”) is shown. Such an entity is the result of the work of a certain codependency, manifested in the work of the personal principle of the creator. The correlation of the estachology of the planetary cosmos of D. Andreev with the biographical factology in the fate of F. M. Dostoevsky, as well as the works of literary critics, lead to the realization of the permissibility of visiting the “abyss” by Dostoevsky’s followers and the writer himself. As a result of the research, the central concept characterizing the work of F.M. Dostoevsky is highlighted.

Keywords: The Rose of the World, the herald, Dostoevsky’s children, metahistory, transphysical wanderings, the abyss.
