Implementation of the project on development and use of the “Beaver Games” collection in lessons of English

Abstract: The project is aimed at solving the problem of motivating middle-level students in English lessons, instilling interest in this subject, as well as developing the basics of theoretical thinking, and specifically classification. Based on the fact that a modern child is interested in computer games, understands their genres, there was an idea to bring something new to the lesson. The constant use of monotonous handouts in the form of cards, tables, and the like leads to a gradual decline in the interest of students. The implementation of the project involves the use of didactic material in the format of a computer game, a format used by teachers quite rarely. The project contained two components: the development and testing of educational computer games in English, as well as conducting research on the effectiveness of these games. Methods of observation, questioning, and testing were used. The results of the project indicated an increase in the motivation of students in the English lesson, mastery of the meta-skill “classification”, an increase in vocabulary on the topics of the school educational program. Further development of the project implies possible cooperation with teachers of other subjects, as well as the creation and implementation of similar educational games in other disciplines.
