Formation of juvenile’s legal literacy as a pedagogical problem

Abstract. The research is devoted to the problem of ensuring the success of the process of students’ socialization
being in adolescent age through the formation of legal literacy. The purpose of the article is to clarify the concept of
juvenile’s legal literacy, to consider the process of forming legal literacy in students of younger adolescence. The modern
realities of the adolescents’ socialization process are revealed. The research is based on a systematic, personal and activity-
based approach. The process of formation of legal literacy of adolescents is considered on the basis of the factors analysis
determining the features of their socialization. The authors present the results of the empirical study that characterizes
the level of legal literacy of younger adolescents. The conducted diagnostics is aimed at identifying the formation of
legal knowledge in adolescents, their interest in obtaining it and the ability to apply this knowledge in everyday life.
Conclusions are drawn about the need to implement continuous programs of legal education of schoolchildren, the
condition for the effectiveness of which is the systematic educational impact.
