Abstract:

The regional press as a mediator participates in the formation of the political culture of Russians. Hierarchy, the subordination of some subsystems and their elements to others is inherent in the structure of the system of publications prepared by newspapers. The subsystems of journalistic works are weakly connected to each other. The subsystem of
publications covering the work of federal, regional, and municipal authorities is dominated. The interconnections of subsystems of journalistic works are manifested in large-scale political campaigns, but these interrelationships most often are uncertain. Reports on the activities of regional state authorities, which among the political institutions have the greatest influence on all spheres of life of the territorial communities are the core of the system of publications that expose the participation of the press in the formation of the political culture of citizens. The subsystems that contain journalistic works on creative activities in politics and publications reflecting public control of authorities, people’s attitudes towards politicians, citizens’ opinions on the world of politics, political events are restricted.
