Abstract:

Introduction. In modern conditions, the need of pharmaceutical companies for specialists capable of us-ing modern information and communication technologies is increasing. However, the ability of medical universi-ties to meet this need is still quite limited, due to the lack of development of scientific, theoretical and practical bases of formation of information competence of future specialists in the pharmaceutical industry. The aim of the study was to identify the level of information competencies of professionals working in the pharmacy network.

Materials and Methods. A survey of 70 pharmacists and pharmacists of different age groups, in dif-ferent pharmacies was conducted.

Results. Information competence is defined as a set of sustainable skills of effective use of infor-mation technologies in professional activities and motivation for this process. The survey showed that all age groups have a level of simple and confident computer user with both higher and secondary vocational education. This gives reason to talk about the development of the methodical system of formation of infor-mation competence of future pharmacists in medical school.
