Abstract:

Introduction. The problem of this empirical research is to identify the key factors influencing the institu-tional structure and dynamics of the modern microfinance market in the Russian Federation. The purpose of the research is to identify possible trends in sustainable development of Russian microfinance market.

Materials and Methods. The research has been conducted using generalization and systematization of statistical and analytical data of the Central Bank of the Russian Federation and the Federal State Statis-tics Service (Rosstat).

Results. Based on the analysis of the institutional structure and dynamics of the microfinance market in Russia, the problems of its development at the present stage are identified. Decisions on the further stabiliza-tion of the microfinance market of Russia as a sector of the country’s financial system are formulated.

Conclusions. The main directions of the sustainable development of the Russian microfinance market are related to overlapping areas of interest of the state, borrowers of microfinance institutions and microfinance insti-tutions themselves. When large financial and credit institutions close sales offices in sparsely populated settle-ments, the microfinance market can compensate access to credit services for population.
