THE PROBLEM OF LINGUISTIC AND COGNITIVE  APPROACH  IN  TEACHING RUSSIAN AS  A  FOREIGN  LANGUAGE

Problem and purpose. The main problem of the article is the applicability of current methods of lin- guistics in the theory and practice of teaching Russian as a foreign language. The aim is to demonstrate the effectiveness of cognitive linguistics.

Methods and methodology. The methodology is based on the demonstration of the results of the con- ceptual analysis of the dominant Russian linguistic culture in teaching Russian as a foreign language.

Results. On the example of cultural dominant PRAVDA the author makes an attempt to create an al- gorithm for working with cultural concepts and lexical background of the lexicon representing them in teach- ing Russian as a foreign language at different levels of education.

Summary. The importance of conceptual analysis for the assimilation of cultural meanings specific to the Russian mentality by a foreign audience is shown on the example of the PRAVDA concept.
