SOCIAL AND PSYCHOLOGICAL FEATURES OF MOTIVATION TO EDUCATIONAL ACTIVITY OF FOREIGN MEDICAL STUDENTS

The problem and the purpose. The fundamental component of modern education is the problem of the formation of a highly motivated student personality. Motivation of students’ learning activities is an es- sential prerequisite for the effective implementation of the learning process. However the problem of creat- ing a structure of educational motivation by psychologists has not been solved yet because up to now there is no single view on the essence of the motive in pedagogy, pedagogical psychology.

Methods. In this research the following methods were used: «Motivation of education in higher edu- cation» by T. I. Ilyina, a questionnaire «Motivation for success and fear of failure» by Rean A. A.

Results. A practical study showed that students from Kazakhstan have dominated positive emotional experiences over negative one. They demonstrate prevalence of self-confidence, the ability to know oneself and motivate oneself for success. And for students from India the motivational field is not clearly ex- pressed, it is probably due to the fact that there are certain difficulties with language, climatic conditions and with changes in living conditions. It has been experimentally proven that students from India need more psychological support for educational activities.

Conclusions. The practical significance of the research is that the theoretical, methodological and empirical studies carried out to determine the motivations of educational activity among students create the need to develop a psychological support program for educational activities aimed at optimizing the process of forming professional competence in the process of studying the discipline.
