SCOUTING PROGRAM AS A WAY TO FORM LIFE SAFETY KNOWLEDGE

Introduction. Preserving the health of the younger generation and providing them with decent living conditions is a national task. According to the world health organization, the deaths of school-aged children from accidents are more than three times higher than deaths from diseases. The article presents the results of the study of the formation of knowledge in the field of life safety in the scout organization, reveals the relevance and necessity of solving this problem in modern secondary school; types and features of child traumatism are considered; features of scout movement as a way of formation of knowledge in the field of safety of activity are opened.

Methods and methodology. The study included the development and implementation of the program scout organization, the most coinciding on the subject and structure with the topics of calendar and thematic planning of the educational institution. The formation of knowledge in the field of life safety was assessed by criteria: motivation, knowledge, skills, creativity and self-control. Checking the level of knowledge on the life safety fundamentals subject determined by the current and archive logs and their own tests. Statistical significance of the study results was checked using student’s t-test and g-test.

Results and conclusions. The results of the study showed that the formation of the basics of life safety of children in the scout movement effectively increases the knowledge of the school program of life safety fundamentals, reduces the level of accidents, both in school and outside. The developed program of experimental work on the formation of the basics of life safety in the scout organization showed its effectiveness (p≤0.001). Scout movement contributes to improving the safety of life, creates favorable conditions for the formation of socially significant and personal qualities of a child, a teenager outside the family and school, forms communicative qualities contributes to the formation of a strong character and independence.
